Sandra is a talented sewist / quilter and has such a great perspective on how she approaches her projects. Hand sewing with her grandmother started it all. Thirty years ago, she began her journey with quilting.
Saturday 11/21 Sashiko Japanese Embroidery Workshop - 1PM EST

Sandra is a master at teaching this intricate, meditative practice. Her fun spirit is infectious. What is Sashiko? It is a traditional Japanese hand stitching technique used to decorate fabric. You can decorate clothing, pillows, and more! The kit includes traditional sashiko fabric that is pre-printing with designs. All materials are included, i.e. pre-printed fabric, needles and thread; and will be shipped to you prior to class. You will need to have a pair of small hand scissors and a thimble on hand.
PLEASE NOTE, registration closes for this workshop on October 23rd to ensure students receive their materials on time.

Learn the basics of free motion quilting on a home sewing machine with Karen Miller, Redbird Quilt Company. We’ll cover the fundamentals including body and hand positioning, notions, needle and thread choices, tension adjustments, and more. Several designs (echo, swirl, pebble, ribbon, paisley) will be discussed, drawn and stitched. McTavishing & continuous curve quilting will be discussed as time permits.
