1PM – 2:30PM  Maxine Rounds Moore: My Quilting Journey *Quilter*Teacher*Giver* – Maxine has made a name for herself in the greater Atlanta area as a creative quilter and a skilled teacher, who is generous with her time and talents. Her journey to this art has been interesting. She has earned her accolades as a quilt artist, quilt teacher and a giver of her quilts.

Through the years Maxine has been one of the founding members & a past president of the Brown Sugar Stitchers Quilt Guild, and an officer and member of six other guilds in the Atlanta area. Maxine and her quilts have been featured in several print magazines and in the Atlanta Journal Constitution. Over the last 20 years, you may have taken a class from Max at Joann’s, Quilting Essentials, Intown Quilt Shop, Atlanta Sewing Center, the Lou Walker Senior Center in DeKalb County, the Southwest Arts Center in Fulton County, Salem Baptist Church, or in her home.

Along the way, Maxine acquired a Gammill Long-Arm Quilting Machine. This has opened a new world of quilt techniques, quilt artistry, and more quilting friends. As a “long-armer” Maxine has even more quilts in the world being displayed at shows, winning ribbons, in personal quilt collections.

3PM – 4:30PM  Rachel D. K. Clark: Rachel’s Quilted Coats and Accessories” Clothing for the Body & Soul – Rachel is a quilt industry titan because she is known for her artistry, precise piecing and gracious sharing spirit, she has been involved in the national quilt industry circuit since 1990. Rachel is a contemporary folk artist, teacher and lecturer who comes from a long line of sewers, beginning with her great-grandmother. She has been doing wearable art since 1973 and teaching on the national circuit since 1990. Eclectic fabric mixes, vibrant designs, and a keen sense of humor characterize Rachel’s work.

While her garments and quilts can be whimsical, political or a personal statement it always reflects her love of traditional quilt making. She has done many one-woman shows around the country and her work has been featured in various gallery shows, magazines such as Threads, and “The Quilting Quarterly” on HGTV’s Simply Quilts.

Rachel has designed her own pattern line, RDKC Patterns. This line includes the Picture This Coat, “Picture This” Vest and the A-Line Coat. She also has two wall quilt patterns called Scrap Happy and “Picture This” Nigerian Appliqué.  Rachel’s website www.rdck.com
